PMI Myanmar Relief Project Going Strong!
|
 |

|
The PMI Myanmar Relief
Project is going strong! We are helping many people who were
desperate, helpless and at risk of malnutrition, disease and
even death. Our Burmese staff is working tirelessly around
the clock to achieve our strategic God-given relief plan.
With the help of all the
PMI partners, we have been able to bring aid and relief to
thousands of people in Myanmar who were affected by Cyclone
Nargis. By strategically empowering our network of pastors in
Myanmar, we have distributed tons of food and supplies and
have saved the lives of many. In addition, we are committed
to providing a home in Yangon for 50 more children who lost
their parents in the storm.
Through the generosity
of the PMI partners, we have provided the following for
hundreds of families in Myanmar:
·
Rice
·
Drinking water
·
Cooking oil
·
Salt
·
Vegetables
·
Beans
·
Mosquito nets
·
Tin roofing
·
Roofing nails
·
Bamboo poles
·
Wood
·
Cement
·
Plumbing pipes
·
Bamboo fencing
Please help us help the people of
Myanmar!
Please send your donations to Powers Ministries International
today and be sure to mark "Myanmar Cyclone Relief."

A
Pastor is empowered to help his community! |
|
|
|
Thank you very much for
your love and concern. As a pastor, it was very important for
me to be able to help the people of my congregation and my whole
community. Most of the people here did not have any food to eat
or clean water to drink. They had no idea how they would
survive and many were starting to get sick. Through your
generosity, we have been able to buy rice, pure water, cooking
oil, beans, salt and other vital needs for the survival of our
church families and many of our neighbors. Also, to provide
shelter, we were able to buy tin, roofing nails, bamboo walling
and bamboo posts. As many people received these blessings from
you, they cried and shared testimonies of how they were
overwhelmed by God’s love and goodness as He answered their
prayers. Now, more people have received Jesus and are coming to
church.

A
woman is overwhelmed by God’s provision! |
|
|
|
This is Daw Miah. She is a
widow and has one daughter. Her home was swept away in the
cyclone and she was left with nothing. When they were
struggling to live, the PMI relief team came and provided food,
shelter and clean water. Today, her church, with PMI’s help, is
rebuilding her house. |

An
orphan is safe and healthy! |
|
|
|
This child was left with no
shelter, no food, no clean water to drink and only the clothes
on his back as the cyclone ravaged his village. Without help,
he would have likely become very sick and possibly died. Today,
he is healthy, full and very thankful for the food, water and
shelter that PMI has provided for him. |

PMI Building - Chiang Mai |
|
|
|
We thank God for our new building!
Every time we go to the office, we look around in amazement as
we consider God's faithfulness. Whether we are working,
having a meeting, or welcoming another guest, we have sensed
God's presence and an amazing peace in this place.
This building is a vital step for us as we establish our
ministry here and pursue our vision of empowering emerging
Christian leaders. Dr. Sumrall once said, "when you are
taking a nation for the Gospel, it begins by possessing the
real estate"!
We view this building as though it were an embassy. All
the rules, laws and customs of the Kingdom of God apply here.
Our prayer is that when people come in our building they
experience the power of God's Kingdom.
We are very grateful to God for His faithful provision.
We say "thanks a million" to all of our partners who
generously gave to help us make this purchase. And, we
are thankful to the Thai seller who has shown great favor
toward us.
We secured this property with a promise to provide full
payment in three years (interest free).
Our next payment of $22,388 is due January 1, 2009.
Please pray about being a building partner with us as we
continue to "take ground" in the 10/40 Window. |
